9/15/2023 0 Comments Superpowered universal cheat mod![]() ![]() For me I would generally just rush through and kill off all the enemies from one spot in lower difficulties, but higher difficulties made me move around more in UC2 and use different weapons more often (I would usually just stick to a pistol in easier modes). With uncharted it’s more about the level design and just switching up weapons more. The systems part was more referring to TLOU. Uncharted 3 and 4 are similar, but those have very weird difficulty spikes that can be annoying The variety in those games is only seen in harder difficulties because with the lower difficulties the same strategy can work for every level and you can just go on autopilot And similarly with the last of us games, the harder difficulties really force you to interact with the games systems more and adds a lot more meaning into the resource gathering, having to make difficult decisions for what you want to prioritize when crafting things, and similarly having to change up your play style pretty often just to survive.ĭifferent strokes and all, so YMMV, but I only thought the games felt repetitive when playing on the easy difficulties, because they never really encourage you to actually engage with the different systems and the level design. Switching weapons in and out since you went through ammo faster, taking more advantage of the verticality and the brilliant level design that changes with each chapter, was all more apparent only when playing on the harder difficulties where you’re forced to change things up. Uncharted 2 went from a game where you would just be behind cover the whole time shooting at bad guys into a game that kept me more on the move and varied up the gameplay. I thought the gameplay was repetitive for both of those until I played on the hardest difficulties. Agreed for uncharted 1, but I think you’re missing out not playing uncharted 2 on crushing or TLOU 1/2 on grounded or survivor. I agree in general, but disagree for the specific examples you gave. ![]() ![]() I thought it was excellent though, and the encounters were challenging enough that it felt just right to me! So the most it ever asked you to redo was a single platforming run, or a single enemy encounter. I also remember a number of years ago when the Prince of Persia reboot came out, it caught a ton of flak for being "too easy" because the checkpoints were literally the last time you had your feet on solid ground. I've come to really appreciate games that find clever alternatives to this.Ī recent example (which admittedly probably wouldn't work in any kind of open world game) is Sifu, which lets you get back into the fight exactly where you left off, but with a penalty (that eventually does accumulate into a game over). By all means, make me re-do the same encounter again, but going back too far just feels like a waste of time. I totally get why a game based around the level of challenge would choose "go back in time" as a form of punishment for failure, but I personally agree with you and find it starts to feel extremely tedious and spoils enjoyment.
