9/17/2023 0 Comments Ebay negative feedback examples![]() ![]() Usually, a neg is simply a plea for attention - usually some arrangement can be made with the buyer, it's never too late. The best thing to do is to contact the buyer and attempt to have the negative removed by them. If the person is just not happy, let it go as it does only draw attention to it. ![]() I think neuts should only be addressed if the comment can actually hurt their reputation. So for me, I think sellers SHOULD respond to ALL negs. It seems to become like a virus or a spell. I have fond that once 1 or 2 people close together leave a neg or neut, others will leave a neg or neut who were not unhappy and not planning on leaving it. When I see more than two recent negs and or neuts I will then check the rest of them for the year and see if there is a pattern on both buyers and sellers side. But if I see BEWARE or SCAMMER I find this as a WARNING to other sellers and to potential buyers that this person is trying to take advantage of the seller, and seeing that ebay and paypal have made it so EASY for them to do, I tend to believe the seller before the buyer.īecause I know what I deal with everyday with buyers, I no longer believe 99% of anything a buyer says. However, when I see the seller respond with LIAR, and personal and or childish insults it makes me feel as though the seller is a JERK! And this turns me AWAY. How to Respond to Negative Feedback from an eBay BĪs a buyer ad seller myself, I find that when a seller does not respond to at least a neg, it makes me feel as though the comment is true and depending on what it say, may run me off if not addressed. So, I wonder if there any benefit or advantage for the seller to post a mea culpa reply? When a seller says "I'm sorry" in a reply, is this a liability for the seller? Or, does an apology and offer to work things out make the seller look more responsible?Įven if the seller wasn't at fault (and even if the buyer is indeed a scammer) do potential customers view a flexible and apologetic seller as a positive? Does it make the seller appear to be an easy target for other scammers? I'm sure that these types of replies are immensely satisfying for the seller, however, there's a risk that it could make the seller look unprofessional (even when the seller's comments and warnings are true.) And, as stated above, the buyer has the opportunity to make one final parting comment. Things like " Liar!" and " Scammer!" and " Beware! Check his feedback for others!" are commonplace. But on the other hand, a seller's reply helps to draw attention to the negative or neutral comment.Īlso, if the seller posts a reply, the buyer is permitted one final follow-up comment, effectively giving them the "last word" on the subject (and I suppose in the Internet world, the axiom is "he who has the last word, wins!")įrom time to time I'll see sellers post replies that include personal insults about the buyer. then potential customers may perceive the silence as an indication that the seller doesn't care. ![]() Should sellers post a reply to negative or neutral feedback on eBay? Or is it better to simply remain silent and post nothing? ![]()
